Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, creating an account, or using NutriPet, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Service Description

NutriPet helps pet owners understand food labels, track meals, and manage nutrition information. The app includes:

• A prepared onboarding plan preview before Pro access is active
• Ingredient analysis and safety ratings for pet food products (Pro access required)
• Food Journal for tracking meals and portions (Pro feature)
• Smart Feeding Calculator for personalized calorie recommendations (Pro feature)
• Nutrition Trends dashboard for health drivers, ingredient insights, and trend history (Pro feature)
• Reaction and symptom logging for food tolerance tracking (Pro feature)
• Daily calorie tracking and feeding progress monitoring
• Optional private account profile photos, preset icons, and initials

3. Not Veterinary Advice

By using the app, you understand that:

• Calorie calculations are estimates based on standard formulas and may not fit every pet
• Feeding recommendations should be verified with your veterinarian, especially for pets with health conditions
• Body condition assessments are entered by you and are not clinically validated
• Symptom and reaction logging is for personal records only, not diagnosis
• The app cannot detect allergies, intolerances, or health conditions
• Always consult a qualified veterinarian for dietary decisions, health concerns, or if your pet shows adverse reactions

4. User Accounts

• You must be at least 13, or 16 in the EEA, to create an account
• Keep your login details secure
• Use one account for yourself
• Provide accurate account and pet information
• Creating an account does not unlock scans or Pro features. Active Pro access is required

6. Food Journal & Smart Feeding Terms

By using Food Journal or Smart Feeding, you understand that:

• You are responsible for the portions, calories, reactions, and notes you enter
• Calorie estimates use industry-standard formulas but may not suit every pet
• Reaction/symptom logging is for personal reference and should be discussed with your vet
• NutriPet is not responsible for health outcomes based on app recommendations
• Custom calorie values you enter override system calculations
• Journal entries may be automatically archived after reaching storage limits

7. Payments & Refunds

• Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play
• NutriPet uses a subscription paywall. No trial is currently offered by NutriPet
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• Refunds are handled under Apple or Google policies
• Partial subscription periods may not be refundable

8. Acceptable Use

Please do not:

• Use NutriPet for illegal purposes
• Try to hack, disrupt, scrape, or exploit the service
• Share your account login details
• Abuse rate limits or try to bypass feature restrictions
• Harass other users or NutriPet staff
• Upload malicious files or code
• Upload profile photos you do not own or do not have permission to use
• Upload profile photos that are illegal, hateful, harassing, explicit, exploitative, impersonating, privacy-invasive, or infringe someone else's rights
• Upload private or sensitive images of another person without their permission, or any adult or exploitative image involving a minor
• Use automated tools to access the service without our written permission

9. Profile Photos and User Content

Your profile photo is yours. By uploading it, you give NutriPet permission to store, process, show privately in your account, protect, and review the photo only as needed to provide the service. That permission ends when the photo is deleted, except for short-lived backups and limited records we keep for legal, safety, or security reasons.

We may review photos after upload. If we reasonably believe a photo breaks these Terms or the Profile Photo Rules, we may remove it or limit future photo uploads. We usually provide a reason and a way to appeal, unless doing so would create a safety, fraud, legal, or security risk.

10. NutriPet Intellectual Property

NutriPet's app, design, software, content, features, and functionality are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

11. Disclaimers

• The service is provided as is, to the extent permitted by law
• We do not guarantee perfect accuracy for ingredient analysis or calorie calculations
• Feeding recommendations are estimates and may need veterinary adjustment
• You are responsible for decisions made based on app information
• Pet health decisions remain your responsibility with your veterinarian
• Symptom patterns are based on your logged data, not clinical analysis

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NutriPet is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

NutriPet is not responsible for pet health outcomes based on feeding recommendations, adverse reactions to foods, weight management results, or veterinary expenses.

13. Termination

• You can delete your account anytime
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms
• We may limit profile photo uploads without closing the account
• When an account is deleted or terminated, associated data is deleted within 30 days, subject to limited lawful retention

14. Apple/Google Store Terms

Your use of NutriPet may also be subject to Apple App Store or Google Play Store terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, UK. The courts of Northern Ireland will resolve disputes, unless applicable consumer law gives you another right.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you in the app of material changes. Continuing to use NutriPet after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
